The Next Wave of EVs: 5 New Electric Cars Arriving in Nepal Soon

The Nepalese EV market is gearing up for an exciting month with the launch of several new electric models. From Tata's feature-packed Curvv EV and Tiago EV to Hyundai's tech-forward Creta Electric, and the Proton eMas7's innovative drive system, the market is set to receive a significant boost. Additionally, MG's S5 electric SUV brings modern tech and impressive range to the table.

With a variety of options catering to different needs and price points, these launches will redefine the electric vehicle landscape in Nepal.

Hyundai Creta Electric

The Hyundai Creta Electric is one of the most anticipated EVs in Nepal, bringing the country’s best-selling compact SUV into the electric era. 

Expected with two battery options—a 42 kWh pack (390 km range) and a 51.4 kWh pack (473 km range)—the Creta Electric offers fast charging (10-80% in 58 minutes) for long drives. Its design includes aerodynamic wheels, LED light bars, and Active Air Flaps for improved range. The interior features dual 10.25-inch screens, ADAS, a Bose sound system, and digital key support.  With an estimated price of Rs 55-65 lakh, it will compete with the BYD Atto 3 and MG S5 EV.

Tata Curvv EV

Tata Motors is preparing to launch the all-electric Curvv EV, featuring a 55kWh battery with a real-world range of 400-425km. Fast charging allows 150km of range in just 15 minutes. The Curvv EV's coupe-SUV design includes sleek LED lighting, sharp body lines, and an aerodynamic profile. 

Inside, it offers a spacious cabin with a curved touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and panoramic sunroof. Safety features include Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and blind spot monitoring.

MG S5

The MG S5 Electric SUV is ready to make its debut in Nepal, offering modern technology and segment-first features. Built on the Modular Scalable Platform shared with the MG4 and Cyberster, it features rear-wheel-drive and independent suspension for better handling and comfort. All variants are powered by a 99 kW electric motor, with ranges of 340 km (49.1 kWh battery) and 430 km (62.2 kWh battery). It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km/h. 

The S5 also boasts the thinnest battery pack in Nepal at just 110mm thick, co-developed with CATL for safety and space efficiency. Inside, it offers a 12.8-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, and the iSmart system, integrating apps like TikTok, ChatGPT, and Spotify.  Pricing is expected to start below Rs 49 lakh.

Tata Tiago EV (2025 Facelift)

The updated Tata Tiago EV comes with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and an upgraded design. New features include aero-optimized wheels, automatic climate control, and improved safety with ESP and ISOFIX mounts, making it an even more appealing option in the affordable EV market.

Proton eMas7

Proton’s eMas7, the brand’s first electric SUV, introduces cutting-edge technology with its 12-in-1 Electric Drive System and Aegis Blade Battery, offering excellent performance and efficiency. 

The eMas7 will be offered in two variants: Light and Max, priced at Rs 58.90 lakh and Rs 68.90 lakh, respectively. The Light variant is equipped with a 49.52 kWh battery, delivering a 345 km range, while the Max variant features a 60.22 kWh battery, offering a 410 km range.

Both variants are powered by a 160 kW motor, ensuring an exciting driving experience. The eMas7 also boasts a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, highlighting its commitment to safety.
